Understanding stereo zoom microscopy
Stereo zoom microscopes like the M2 Z45 offer a unique alternative to traditional compound microscopes. A stereo microscope provides a three-dimensional image by combining two separate optical systems — one for each eye. That gives you real depth perception and an extended working distance of up to 200mm, leaving room for tools, probes, and your hands beneath the optics. It is what makes stereo zoom the right instrument for detailed inspection work across industries.
The M2 Z45 delivers unparalleled image quality, field of view, and seamless industrial integration — with continuous zoom from 6.7× to 45×, so you can survey a whole board and then go straight in on a single joint without changing objectives or losing your place.
Illumination for your application
Component inspection, small parts, P.C. boards and through-hole work, ceramics, and measurement are all well served by either of the two light sources we offer. The choice comes down to your bench setup and how you prefer to work — tell us the application and we will recommend one.
- LED ring light — mounts directly to the pod with a variable power supply. Cool running, long life, and even illumination around the full circumference. The Z45 light adapter is included.
- Fiber optic light — a fiber optic ring driven by a separate 150 watt light box, for shadow-free illumination and flexible positioning. The Z45 light adapter is included with the ring.
Why M2 Associates leads in stereo zoom technology
The Z45 series has a magnification range of 6.7× to 45× (with 10X eyepieces), letting you view samples at a variety of magnifications; the zoom knob allows precise adjustments with a clear, sharp image at every level. The body is designed for comfortable viewing over extended periods, reducing fatigue — and the focus knobs and easy-to-use controls make it simple to navigate and adjust.
The Z45 is compatible with a full range of accessories — LED ring lights, fiber optic light sources, and digital camera systems — so you can customize the microscope to your specific needs. And in terms of durability, it is built to withstand frequent use: high-quality optics ensure reliable performance for years to come.
